Description

Experience the ultimate comfort dessert with this Apple and Blueberry Crumble. This rustic recipe features tart, cinnamon-spiced apples and plump, jammy blueberries topped with a golden, buttery streusel. It is a simple, stress-free bake that fills your home with the warm, inviting scent of cinnamon. Perfectly forgiving for beginners and sophisticated enough to impress any guest, this crumble is best served warm, ideally paired with a cold scoop of vanilla ice cream for a truly decadent treat.

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup melted vegan butter
4 cooking apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon.
Pour the melted vegan butter into the dry mixture and stir with a fork until crumbly.
In a separate large bowl, combine the sliced apples, blueberries, and lemon juice until well coated.
Spread the fruit mixture evenly into a baking dish.
Sprinkle the crumble topping generously over the fruit layer.
Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit filling is bubbling.
Remove from oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Ensure your apples are thinly sliced for even cooking. If using frozen blueberries, there is no need to thaw them before adding to the dish. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days and reheat before serving.
