1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted halal-certified butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 cup whole milk
3 cups peeled and chopped apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
2 tsp ground cinnamon
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup halal caramel glaze (see below)
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup (1 stick) halal-certified butter
1/4 cup heavy cream or non-dairy alternative
1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
In a bowl, whisk flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each. Stir in milk.
Fold in chopped apples.
Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake 55-60 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Let cool slightly. Prepare caramel glaze by melting brown sugar, butter, cream, and vanilla in a saucepan. Drizzle over warm bread.
