Description

Caramel Pear Pie is the ultimate dessert for those chilly afternoons, blending sweet, tender pears with a rich, buttery caramel sauce encased in a flaky, golden-brown crust. This sophisticated twist on a classic fruit pie elevates the humble pear into a decadent, syrupy glaze perfection. With notes of warm cinnamon and ginger, this lattice-topped beauty is a crowd-pleasing centerpiece that provides a beautiful contrast between crisp pastry and luscious, melt-in-your-mouth fruit. It is the perfect comfort food for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

Homemade double crust pie dough
6 cups peeled pears, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup salted caramel sauce

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Place the prepared pears in a large bowl and toss with lemon juice, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and ginger until evenly coated.
Roll out half of the pie dough and line a 9-inch pie dish.
Pour the pear mixture into the crust, then drizzle the salted caramel sauce evenly over the fruit.
Roll out the remaining dough and cut into strips to create a lattice weave over the top of the pie.
Trim and crimp the edges to seal.
Bake for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
Allow the pie to cool on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before serving to let the caramel set.

Notes

Ensure pears are ripe but still firm to prevent the filling from becoming too watery. For a deeper caramel flavor, you can drizzle extra sauce on top after baking. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
