Description

Soft, chewy Creamsicle Orange Cookies with fresh orange zest, orange juice, vanilla, and sweet white chocolate chips for a bright citrusy dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup packed light brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or vanilla baking chips

Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

2. In a large bowl, cream softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar with an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2–3 minutes.

3. Beat in eggs one at a time, then add vanilla extract, orange zest, and orange juice. Mix until combined.

4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix just until incorporated.

5. Fold in the white chocolate chips.

6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

7. Scoop dough onto the prepared baking sheet about 2 inches apart.

8. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until edges are set and centers are still slightly soft.

9. Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.


Notes

Use freshly grated orange zest for the brightest flavor.

Do not overbake; the centers should look slightly underdone when removed from the oven.

Chill the dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
