Ingredients
6 cups sliced pears (about 3 pounds, ripe but firm, cored and sliced)
2/3 cup icing sugar
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups rolled oats
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup walnut pieces
1/2 cup butter, softened and cut into small pieces
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
In a large bowl, toss peeled pears with icing sugar, cinnamon, flour, and a pinch of salt.
In a separate bowl, combine rolled oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Add softened butter; mix until crumbly and combined.
Spread pear mixture into a 9×13″ baking dish and top generously with crumble mixture.
Bake for 35-40 minutes or until bubbling and golden brown.
Cool slightly before serving warm with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Use firm pears for the best texture after baking
Adjust sugar amount if using very sweet pears
Add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for tangy balance
Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days (best served fresh)
For a dairy-free option, substitute vegan butter for regular butter
